Time- and energy-saving food preparation

Pressure cookers

Pressure cooking saves time, energy, and preserves vitamins. In a pressure cooker, you prepare food gently under pressure in just a few minutes. Some Fissler pressure cookers also feature a pressure-free steam-cooking setting. Steam cooking gently cooks food, helping preserve flavour and nutrients almost completely. With pressure cooking, shorter cooking times use less energy: so you cook in an eco-friendly way and save money too.

The pressure cooker guide

Advantages of pressure cooking

Why pressure cooking?

Pressure cooking gives you more time, saves energy, and preserves the best of your ingredients. In pressure cooking, ingredients are cooked quickly and gently in pressure cookers, also known as steam pressure cookers. Vitamins and flavor are largely retained compared to conventional cooking.

Pressure cooking is modern and fits perfectly with a conscious lifestyle. Cooking with a pressure cooker is ideal for:

  • healthier eating
  • seasonal and regional ingredients
  • preparing legumes
  • braised dishes
  • stews
  • soups
  • vegetarian and vegan dishes

The benefits of pressure cooking at a glance

Save time

Cooking with a pressure cooker gives you more time for what matters. The pressure created inside the pot reduces cooking time by up to 70%.

  • Once the lid locks securely into place, indicated by a click in the handle, and pressure builds up, the cooking time begins.
  • Pressure builds up inside the pot, raising the boiling point of liquids from 100 to up to 116 °C.

This increase in temperature means that cooking time is cut by more than half compared to a conventional saucepan.

Save energy

Shorter cooking times and lower energy consumption make Fissler pressure cookers sustainable companions in the kitchen.

  • The shorter cooking time uses less energy.
  • Once heated up, Fissler pressure cookers deliver their full performance even at medium heat settings. This allows energy consumption during cooking to be reduced by up to 50%.
  • With a steaming insert, you can even cook several dishes at the same time. That saves energy too.

The Vitavit® Premium also features the CookStar® base made in Germany. It has high thermal conductivity and is especially energy-efficient. It is suitable for all types of stovetops and optimized for induction. The Vitaquick® pressure cooker is equipped with the Superthermic® base, which is also suitable for all types of stovetops.

The tried-and-tested Fissler CookStar® base (Vitavit® Premium) is extra thick and solid, allowing for optimal heat absorption, distribution, and retention. Another advantage is the integrated star-shaped expansion grooves in the CookStar® base. These grooves provide exceptional base stability, ensuring that the pressure skillet always sits flat on the stovetop when heated and that ingredients cook evenly.

To the induction-compatible pressure cookers

Cook healthy

Vitamins, nutrients, and aromas are almost completely preserved when pressure cooking.

  • A small amount of liquid and high boiling temperatures ensure that oxygen is almost completely displaced from the pressure cooker by the steam created during heating.
  • When the valve closes and the cooking time begins, there is hardly any oxygen left inside the pot that could break down the vitamins and nutrients in the food.

This quick preparation method is especially gentler on sensitive vitamins than cooking in a conventional pot. Valuable vitamin C for example, remains up to 90% preserved when pressure cooking.

What’s more, the ingredients retain their natural color. That’s why pressure-cooked dishes are a true delight not only in taste, but visually too.
