How does an induction-compatible pressure cooker work?

A pressure cooker, also called a steamer, differs in that...Cooking under pressurefrom a conventional saucepan. All Fissler Vitaquick® Premium and Vitavit® Premium pressure cookers are induction-compatible.

  • A pressure cooker consists of a pot that is tightly sealed with a lid. The lid has amulti-stage Fissler safety systemwith patented technology. Components of the secure lid are the FisslerCooking crown with traffic light function(with Vitavit® Premium) for comfortable pressure regulation, whichEuromatic cooking valve, the special sealing ring and the ergonomic FisslerSafety handle with locking indicatorThey ensure that the pot is securely and airtight sealed. This allows pressure to build up safely inside the pot, enabling faster, more energy-efficient, and gentler cooking.
  • For a pot to be suitable for induction cooking, its base must be magnetic. Only then can an electromagnetic field be generated that is converted into heat in the pot's base.energy-efficient Fissler CookStar® floorIt is optimized for induction cooktops. The Superthermic® base is suitable for induction cooktops.
  • A minimum amount of liquid is always used for pressure cooking.
  • Heating produces steam, which allows oxygen, harmful to vitamins, to escape.
  • Once the oxygen has escaped, the Euromatic pressure relief valve closes and pressure build-up begins. The pressure indicator displays the pressure inside the pressure cooker.
  • As soon as the first ring of the cooking indicator appears, the power of the induction hob can be reduced. The cooking time begins.
  • At the end of the cooking time, the pressure cooker can be easily and safely released using the steam release function on the handle. The Vitavit® Premium can also be conveniently released via the steaming crown.

In 1953, Fissler invented a multi-stage safety cooking valve, making pressure cookers safe for home use for the first time. All Fissler pressure cookers feature this.Safety valvesand fulfillstrict guidelinesPressure can only build up inside the pot if it is properly sealed. Fissler pressure cookers regulate themselves if the internal pressure becomes too high. The pressure cooker should only be opened when there is no longer any pressure inside.
