A saucepan is versatile Cookware. This hybrid of pot and Frying Pan lets you both mix and reduce liquids as well as sear and heat meat, vegetables, and other pan dishes.
Mix sauces, porridge, or creams
Saucepans are ideal for preparing sauces, porridge, or creams. The long handle can be held easily even at high cooking temperatures and provides a secure grip, so that comfortable holding and stirring with a whisk at the same time are possible.
Depending on the model, Fissler Saucepans feature different handles:
- Stay-cool metal handle (Original-Profi Collection® Saucepan): The solid handle keeps a pleasantly comfortable grip temperature for an exceptionally long time when used on a standard household hob (<50 °C). The heat-insulating transition between the pot body and handle plate provides added safety.
- Stainless steel handle with heat buffer (Bonn Saucepan): Silicone rings reduce the transfer of heat from the pot body to the handles. This keeps the handles pleasantly cool even during extended use on the hob.
- Stainless steel handle (Viseo® Saucepan): The heat-conducting properties of stainless steel ensure that the handle temperature remains pleasantly cool at all times.
Heat smaller portions
Fissler saucepans have a diameter of 16 cm and are therefore especially handy.
Thanks to the optimal and fast heat absorption, distribution, and retention of the exclusive, energy-efficient CookStar® base of the Original-Profi Collection® Saucepan and the Superthermic® base of the Bonn and Viseo® Saucepan, small portions can be heated quickly and evenly – and on any type of hob, including induction.
Sear and braise dishes
For braising, casserole pots and roasters are the ideal choice. Even so, you can also sear dishes in Fissler saucepans and let them braise in the oven. For this, it is best to choose a version with Lid.
Thanks to the Condensate-Plus function of the Original-Profi Collection® Saucepan, which features a slightly concave metal Lid, condensed steam drips back into the pot, making dishes even juicier and more flavourful.
Saucepans are not suitable for tossing food because of their steep sides. In this case, you should opt for a sauté pan instead. Fissler also offers the right products in this category
