Choosing the right pot

What pot size is suitable for how many people?

The size of the pot determines whether the food fits and cooks evenly. The following information serves as a guide:

  • Up to 3 liters: suitable for 1-2 people
  • Up to 5 liters: suitable for 2-3 people
  • Up to 10 liters: suitable for 4-5 people
  • Large pots up to 15 liters: suitable for 5 people or more.

Pots with a 5-liter capacity for various cooking methods

In addition to the cooking pot, which can be used in a variety of ways as a classic multi-talent – for example for preparing soups, pasta and vegetables – Fissler offers other 5-liter pots:

roasting pan, in which you first add ingredients sear and then with the lid closed at approximately 180 °C braise in the oven.
Original Profi Collection® roasting pans feature a domed lid with the Fissler Condensate Plus function, allowing for optimal moisture circulation and gentle cooking. The dripping condensation makes meat tender and even juicier.

  • roasting pans, in which you can eat both braise as well as gently steam. Less condensation forms on the flat sides of a roasting pot than in a conventional pot. This has a positive effect on the browning result, the development of roasted aromas, and the flavor.
