Guide to cooking pots

Quality features

What makes a good cooking pot?

When it comes to cookware, quality matters – because cooking is about appreciation. That's why Fissler also focuses on quality in its cookware.Premium quality,Durability and sustainability.

High-quality and durable material: stainless steel pots

To ensure you can enjoy your cooking pots for as long as possible, they should be made of a material that is particularly durable.hygienic, dimensionally stableandresistantresistant to heat, alkalis, acids and corrosion.

Therefore, Fissler manufactures its cooking pots predominantly from up to 90% recycled 18/10 stainless steel and aluminum.

First-class pot base

The base is the heart of a cooking pot. A high-quality pot base is characterized by arapid heat conductionfrom which cooking time is reduced, especially on induction hobs. Aeven heat distributionIt supports optimal cooking results and prevents localized burning.efficient use of energyHeat not only saves money, but also protects the environment.

Fissler places particular emphasis on quality and functionality:

  • Theexclusive, energy-efficient Fissler CookStar® baseIt is suitable for all types of cooktops and optimized for induction. Its extra-thick and solid construction ensures optimal heat absorption, distribution, and retention. This long heat retention makes pots with a CookStar® base particularly energy-efficient.
  • Theenergy-efficient Superthermic® floorIt is also suitable for all types of cooktops, including induction. It offers even heat absorption, distribution, and retention, thus making excellent use of energy.

Cool-touch handles

Fissler Stay-Cool metal handles, stainless steel handles with heat buffers, and plastic handles remain pleasantly cool while cooking on the stovetop. The ergonomic pot handles fit comfortably in the hand and provide a secure grip when carrying and moving the pot on the stove.
The handles of Fissler cooking pots remainpleasantly cooland areto always grip securely.

Fissler stainless steel pots have different handles depending on the model:

  • Stay-cool metal handles(Original-Profi Collection® Cookware): The solidly crafted handles retain a pleasant temperature (<50 °C) for an exceptionally long time when used on a standard household stovetop. The heat-insulating transition between the pot body and the handle plate provides added safety.
  • Stainless steel handles with heat buffer(Bonn saucepan): Silicone rings reduce the transfer of heat from the pan body to the handles. This keeps the handles pleasantly cool even during extended use on the stovetop.
  • Stainless steel handles(Viseo® saucepan): The heat-conducting properties of stainless steel ensure that the handle temperature remains pleasantly cool at all times.

Perfectly closing lid

A high-quality lid is characterized by theMaterial processingandPerfect fitout of.

Fissler offers different types of lids, depending on the model:

  • Metal lid made of robust 18/10 stainless steel with condensate-plus function(only Original Profi Collection® cooking pots), which, due to their slightly concave curvature in the pot lid, allow condensed steam to drip back into the pot, making food even juicier and tastier.
  • Metal lid made of robust 18/10 stainless steel, which are easy to clean and oven-safe up to 230 °C.
  • Lid made of high-quality glass(Bonn and Viseo® saucepans), which are shock-resistant and impervious to slow thermal changes up to 180 °C. Thanks to the high-quality stainless steel ring with embedded silicone seal, water inclusions or stress in the glass during heating are prevented. The glass lid allows for convenient monitoring of the cooking process without loss of aroma or energy.

A tight-fitting lid allows only minimal heat loss from condensation to escape, thus accelerating the cooking process.energytosaveFissler recommends cooking with the lid closed whenever possible.
