What size pan is the right one?

To determine the right pan size, you should first know what you need the pan for. Do you often cook larger portions for several days or for 2 to 3 people?

Secondly, the pan base should match the size of conventional hobs so that... consistent heat supply. This is ensured. If the pan base is too large, the pan will not heat up completely. If the pan base is smaller than the hob, valuable energy is wasted.

A 16 cm diameter pan is suitable for preparing a fried egg and a small omelet. A 20 cm Fissler pan is ideal for frying two eggs or stir-fries for one person. Three fried eggs fit perfectly in a 24 cm pan. For larger portions, we recommend a pan with a 28 cm cooking surface.

This is how the diameter of a pan is measured

The diameter of the pan is measured at the upper inner edge. This is important in order to offer universally fitting lids.

The cooking surface is called the pan surface and is slightly smaller than the stated diameter. For example, a Fissler frying pan with a 26 cm diameter has a cooking surface of 19 cm for the Classic pan body and 21 cm for the Comfort pan body.

Fissler pans in the 26 cm size feature an excellent, food-safe PTFE-based coating. In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 2019/1021, all Fissler pans are PFOA-free.

PTFEPolytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is the best and most well-known coating for aluminum pans.

The Adamant® Premium pan, on the other hand, consists of a stainless steel body and a particularly scratch-resistant, water-based non-stick coating with silicon carbide particles.

Fissler is the first manufacturer to offer fully water-based coatings for its coated pans produced in Germany. This allows the premium brand from Rhineland-Palatinate to reduce its CO₂ emissions in production by approximately 70% per year.
