Ingredients
| 250 g | cocktail tomatoes |
| 1 | shallot |
| 1 | clove garlic |
| 2 tbsp | olive oil |
| 1 tbsp | brown sugar |
| 1 tsp | honey |
| 1 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
| 1 tsp | smoked paprika powder |
| 1.5 tsp | chili flakes |
Instructions
Step 1 of 4:
Dice the onion and sauté it with the olive oil in a pan or small saucepan until translucent. Finely chop the garlic and fry briefly as well.
Step 2 of 4:
Halve the tomatoes and add them to the pan. Add the brown sugar and honey, then let everything reduce slowly over medium heat. It is fine if the tomatoes break down slightly.
Step 3 of 4:
Stir in the balsamic vinegar, smoked paprika, and chili. Let everything simmer for another 10–15 minutes until it reaches a thick, jam-like consistency.
Step 4 of 4:
Season with salt, pepper, and optionally a little cumin or thyme. Let it cool slightly before serving.
