Apple and cranberry crumble
Chia was an important food plant for the Aztecs, but it was almost forgotten by their descendants.
That would have been a shame, because chia seeds are exceptionally rich in antioxidants, protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. They also have the highest omega-3 content of any food – a true superfood.

Ingredients
| 2 | apples |
| 40 g | Butter |
| 50 g | Rolled oats |
| 50 g | Cane sugar |
| 20g | dried cranberries |
| 20 g | Honey |
| 5 g | Chia seeds |
| 1 tbsp | vegetable oil |
| 25 g | flour |
Instructions
Step 1 of 6:
Preheat oven to 180 °C fan/convection or 200 °C conventional. Peel, quarter, core, and dice the apples into approx. 1 cm cubes. Roughly chop the cranberries.
Step 2 of 6:
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and sauté the diced apples and cranberries with the honey over low to medium heat for 5 minutes.
Step 3 of 6:
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the brown sugar, oats, chia seeds, and 25 g flour. Then add the butter and mix thoroughly with a fork.
Step 4 of 6:
Set aside 2 tbsp of the sautéed fruit for decoration. Place the remaining fruit in 2 baking dishes and sprinkle the oat crumble over the top. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for approx. 15 minutes until golden brown.
Step 5 of 6:
Remove the crumble from the oven at the end of the baking time and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 6 of 6:
Decorate the crumble with the remaining fruit pieces.
